I can't call myself a big fan of the RoboCop franchise. I mean, as a kid, I really liked it; I watched the movies, sat in front of the TV every afternoon to catch RoboCop: Alpha Commando (I must admit, that's a pretty weak show in my opinion, though; but of course, I really didn't mind about it when I was a kid), and I think I've ever seen one of the live-action TV series once...the one with the "Evil RoboCop". I don't know his name, but I used to love that guy. (In fact, I always love that type of villain.) Well, actually I still like it until now. Anyway, with that being said, I am nowhere near to be a huge fan of the franchise; like, I've quite forgotten the movies at this point, since I've never seen it for a hundred times or something, et cetera. (Honestly, I really want to see them again, but I always missed it everytime one of the movies was shown on the TV.)
That's just to explain how I'm quite surprised to find myself being very interested in the recently announced reboot project of the film franchise (which, I believe, should be known by everyone by now...unless you're a caveman). If you've been keeping an eye on my gallery, then I'm sure you should have spotted this fan-made poster I made for the movie. That's just about a sign of my huge interest toward the project.
One thing that about the titular character himself (or itself?) that hooked me up in the very first place, was its looks. Yeah...when I first saw him, I was like, "Holy cow, that guy is [frick]ing cool!" And that alone makes me very intrigued about how the character will look like in the upcoming reboot. You know, there's quite a big time gap between the first movie and the present, and during that time gap, a lot of things have evolved greatly; including the technology, make-up techniques, and special effects, talking about the movies. The evolution of those aspects sure also have affected people's views. And so, by today, people may find the design of the original RoboCop a little bit outdated, et cetera, and demand him to have a more "streamlined" or "sleeker" look for the reboot in particular (such as seen in the following concept art images).
That sounds like a call to me. As a kid who likes to draw and thinks about a lot of things, I feel like challenged to create a design that will do justice to both the modern people's demands and the old-school fans' love toward the character. And so, I will attempt to create a concept art image, based on my own ideas, for the titular character of the upcoming reboot movie (and the franchise in general). I've started working on it, and I've managed to create this (unfinished) one rough design sheet.

Well, as I've said, the image above is an unfinished stuff; and that means that there are still a lot of flaws there. In order to perfect it, I'll try my best to fix the image...or I might just start it over. I'm not sure, but stay tuned for further updates on this project.
Ghost Rider: Concept Art
I believe I've mentioned about how I love drawing and imagining about a lot of things. Well, you may have known that I dream to be a director of a movie one day, or to work for a movie at a very least. That being said, one thing I like to do in my spare times is to think about various characters' looks if I was to make a movie that involves those characters. (Okay, that's a screwed-up statement; but you get the idea.)
The recent movie, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, has left a great pain in my heart, and it still hurts to think about it until now. (I don't exactly think about it, but somehow, it still haunts me.) That movie was...quite horrible, I should say. Furthermore, as a comic book fan, I see that the movie did the character no justice at all. Alright, I'm not a big fan of Ghost Rider, either, but I've always been interested into the character, especially after reading a few old issues of Ghost Rider. It's impossible for me to catch up with every single issue of the series, of course, so I was expecting for the movies to show me what the character (and the surrounding universe) has got. Long story short, both movies failed to accomplish that goal. With a great feeling of dissatisfaction, I took a time to think about this question, "Whose fault is it that the movies failed?" The character? I don't think so. The villains, or the supporting characters? Nah, they're cool. The way the movies were handled? Exactly.
Of course, I'm not going to describe every single aspect of the two movies that were handled wrongly both failed miserably. (Although for the second movie, I can say it's pretty much everything.) But, I looked back to the reason of why I'm interested in the character: He's cool. And his universe, too. Under the right direction, a Ghost Rider movie could be a killer. With such idea in my mind, I tried to craft a story of the movies, the designs of the characters, et cetera. What you're about to see, are the concept art images I've made for several characters that will be featured in my imaginary Ghost Rider movie(s).

Eh...alright, I think I forgot to add some tiny details on some of the images. But, those are pretty much the complete designs. If you think there's something missing, yes, I'm still working on the image of Ghost Rider himself; his motorcycle, in particular. It's just tough. I mean, Vengeance's motorcycle was a lot easier to draw, since it has a lot of variations compared to mainstream motorcycles, thus more interesting to draw. Ghost Rider's, meanwhile, is tougher and a little boring, I must admit. I'll try to finish it as soon as possible, though. Also, each of the design comes with its own explanation. I'll write 'em all down, once all the images are complete.
